It has become especially well known in modern wellness routines for its connection to skin and beauty, giving it a distinct place in a formula designed with women’s changing needs in mind. We use a concentrated 8:1 fruiting body extract.

Five mushrooms, five distinct extract profiles, one thoughtfully built blend.

Mushroom Math

Why 250 mg isn’t always 250 mg

The number of milligrams in a serving only tells you how much extract is there. It doesn’t tell you how much mushroom went into making it.

That is where the extract ratio comes in. A 15:1 extract uses 15 parts dried mushroom to make 1 part extract, while an 8:1 extract uses eight. The amount of dried mushroom behind the finished extract is known as the dried mushroom equivalent, or Quantity Crude Equivalent (QCE).

In 5 Mushroom Blend, each mushroom has its own place in the formula. Cordyceps, Reishi and Maitake contribute 250 mg of extract per serving, while Lion’s Mane and Tremella contribute 125 mg each. Their extract ratios tell you how much dried mushroom sits behind those numbers.

Mushroom Extract in each serving Extract ratio QCE
Cordyceps 250 mg 8:1 2,000 mg
Reishi 250 mg 15:1 dual 3,750 mg
Maitake 250 mg 8:1 2,000 mg
Lion’s Mane 125 mg 8:1 dual 1,000 mg
Tremella 125 mg 8:1 1,000 mg
Total 1,000 mg 9,750 mg

Is 5 Mushroom Blend Right for Your Routine?

It may be a good fit if you:

  • Want Cordyceps, Reishi, Maitake, Lion’s Mane and Tremella together in one daily powder
  • Prefer concentrated mushroom extracts over 1:1 mushroom powders
  • Look for fruiting body extracts with no grain substrate in the mushroom extracts
  • Like knowing the extract ratios, QCE and beta-glucan specifications before you buy
  • Want USDA Organic Certified and third-party tested mushroom supplements
  • Want a daily mushroom routine that can move with you as your needs change
  • Prefer something you can stir into coffee, matcha, a smoothie or another favourite food or drink

What to Look for in a Mushroom Supplement

A mushroom blend should tell you more than how many mushrooms are in the jar. Look at the species, source material, extract ratios, beta-glucan specifications and testing to understand what you are actually buying.

The more a label tells you about each mushroom in the formula, the easier it is to know what you are choosing.

The Difference

What are fruiting bodies and mycelium?

Most of a fungus is hidden from view. It spends much of its life as mycelium, a network of fine, thread-like structures. When conditions are right, it produces the fruiting body, the part we recognize as a mushroom.

Mycelium

The network the mushroom grows from. Mycelium is made up of fine, thread-like structures called hyphae that grow through a food source.

vs.
Fruiting body mushroom icon

Fruiting Body

The visible part we recognize as the mushroom. It is the source material we use for every mushroom extract in this blend.

Think of an apple tree

The tree, roots and all → that’s the mycelium

The apple → that’s the fruiting body

Both belong to the same fungus, but they are different structures.

Where grain substrate comes in

Mycelium is sometimes cultivated on grains such as rice or oats. As the mycelium grows, its thread-like network spreads through and becomes intertwined with the grain substrate, making the two difficult to separate.

Because of this, the cultivated material is typically harvested as a whole. The mycelium and grain substrate are processed together, so grain remains in the finished ingredient.

Why Eversio uses fruiting bodies

For 5 Mushroom Blend, we start with the fruiting bodies of Cordyceps, Reishi, Maitake, Lion’s Mane and Tremella. Each mushroom is extracted separately using the method chosen for that mushroom before the five extracts are brought together in the finished blend.

Every mushroom in 5 Mushroom Blend is a fruiting body extract, with no grain substrate in the mushroom extracts.

The Eversio Experience Podcast

Tremella Mushroom Masterclass

Often called the "beauty mushroom," Tremella has a long history of culinary and traditional use in Asia and has found a new audience in modern wellness routines.

In this episode, Brandi and Dr. Desiree explore Tremella fuciformis, its distinctive polysaccharides, why it has become so closely associated with skin and beauty, and what researchers are learning about this delicate, almost translucent mushroom. They also look at Tremella's broader functional profile and why it earned a place in Eversio's 5 Mushroom Blend.

Important things to know

Why Beta-Glucans Matter

Beta-glucans are naturally occurring polysaccharides found in the cell walls of mushrooms. They are one of the useful markers we can measure when evaluating a mushroom extract.

In 5 Mushroom Blend, each extract has its own beta-glucan specification: 25% Cordyceps, 45% Reishi, 40% Maitake, 35% Lion’s Mane and 18% Tremella, verified batch by batch.

Beta-glucans and polysaccharides are not the same number

Beta-glucans are a type of polysaccharide, but “polysaccharides” describes a much broader group of carbohydrates. Polysaccharides are also found in grains such as rice and oats, so a total polysaccharide test is not specific to mushroom beta-glucans.

That is why we specify beta-D-glucans for each mushroom extract rather than relying on one total polysaccharide percentage for the blend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Eversio mushroom blend should I choose?

Each blend was created with a different kind of routine in mind. 3 Mushroom Blend brings Turkey Tail, Cordyceps and Lion’s Mane together in our start-of-day blend. 4 Mushroom Blend combines Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Maitake and Shiitake in a formula that fits naturally into an evening ritual. 5 Mushroom Blend brings Cordyceps, Reishi, Maitake, Lion’s Mane and Tremella together in a daily formula designed to support you from one stage of life to the next.

If you prefer one particular mushroom, you can also choose a single-mushroom supplement or combine a blend with a single mushroom as part of a more personalized routine.

Why aren’t all five mushrooms included in equal amounts?

Each mushroom has a different place in the formula. Cordyceps, Reishi and Maitake contribute 250 mg of concentrated extract per serving, while Lion’s Mane and Tremella contribute 125 mg each.

The amount of extract is only part of the picture. Each mushroom also has its own extract ratio and Quantity Crude Equivalent (QCE), which tells you how much dried mushroom was used to produce the finished extract.

What does 9,750 mg QCE mean?

QCE stands for Quantity Crude Equivalent. It describes the amount of dried mushroom used to produce the concentrated extracts in a serving.

One serving contains 1,000 mg of concentrated mushroom extracts made from the equivalent of 9,750 mg of dried mushroom in total. It does not mean there are 9,750 mg of powder in the serving.

How do I take 5 Mushroom Blend?

Adults 18 years and older: Take 1 g, approximately ½ teaspoon, once daily. Stir it into coffee, tea, matcha, cacao or a smoothie, or add it to oatmeal, yogurt or another favourite food.

When is the best time to take 5 Mushroom Blend?

There is no single best time. Morning, afternoon or later in the day can all work. Choose a time that fits naturally into your routine and is easy to remember.

Can I take 5 Mushroom Blend every day?

5 Mushroom Blend is designed to fit into a daily routine. Adults 18 years and older should follow the recommended serving of 1 g, approximately ½ teaspoon, once daily.

Does 5 Mushroom Blend dissolve completely?

5 Mushroom Blend mixes easily into drinks and foods. For the smoothest blend, we recommend using a handheld frother or our Mushroom Mixer. If you don’t have one, a spoon will still do the job. Because mushroom extracts are natural ingredients, you may occasionally notice a few tiny specks that do not fully dissolve. That’s completely normal.

What does 5 Mushroom Blend taste like?

On its own, 5 Mushroom Blend has a mild, earthy mushroom flavour. But at just ½ teaspoon per serving, it disappears easily into the things you already eat and drink. Stir it into coffee, matcha, cacao or a smoothie and the mushroom flavour is barely noticeable.

How are the mushrooms in 5 Mushroom Blend extracted?

We choose the extraction method according to the mushroom. Reishi is a 15:1 dual extract and Lion’s Mane is an 8:1 dual extract, using both hot water and alcohol during extraction. Cordyceps, Maitake and Tremella are concentrated 8:1 extracts.

Not every mushroom needs the same extraction process, so we do not apply one method to every ingredient in the blend.

How much beta-glucan is in 5 Mushroom Blend?

Each mushroom extract has its own beta-D-glucan specification: Cordyceps 25%, Reishi 45%, Maitake 40%, Lion’s Mane 35% and Tremella 18%. These specifications are verified by mushroom extract rather than reported as one averaged percentage for the entire blend.

Is 5 Mushroom Blend made from fruiting bodies or mycelium?

Every mushroom extract in 5 Mushroom Blend is made from fruiting bodies. We do not use mycelium grown on grain in the mushroom extracts.

Can I take 5 Mushroom Blend with other mushroom supplements?

Some customers use a mushroom blend alongside a single-mushroom product to create a more personalized routine. When combining supplements, review the ingredients and amounts across each product and speak with your health care practitioner if you have questions about what is appropriate for you.

Can I take 5 Mushroom Blend with medications?

We cannot advise on interactions with specific medications. Speak with your health care practitioner before use if you take prescription medication, have diabetes, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are managing a health condition.

How long does one jar of 5 Mushroom Blend last?

Each 60 g jar contains approximately 60 servings. At one 1 g serving per day, one jar lasts about 60 days.
