Listen to Eversio’s Co-founder, Brandi Garden, on The Wellness Witch Podcast

The Wellness Witch Podcast Experience

In September of 2022, our Co-founder, Brandi Garden, was hosted by Samantha Gladish on her popular Canadian wellness podcast, Wellness Witch, that is produced by Soulfire Productions.  The conversation was all about mushroom supplements and why they are one of the most important tools we can add to our daily immune support and stress management routines. The podcast also includes a thoughtful and important discussion about the legalization of psychedelic mushrooms for medical use in Canada.

When planning her podcasts, Samantha looks for leaders from companies like Eversio to interview because she is not only a podcaster, but also a Holistic Nutritionist, Entrepreneur and is passionate about helping women achieve vibrant health. She’s been including mushroom supplements in her regimen for decades and has always loved them, so Eversio was a natural fit for her audience.

Who Is Samantha Gladish?

Samantha was born and raised in Toronto and has been working with clients in the health and wellness field for over 15 years. Through her online training programs, ebooks, and personal one-on-one coaching, she’s reached and worked with women in more than 30 countries and counting.

She also suffered with constant migraines and headaches. In 2017, she was diagnosed with autoimmune Hashimoto’s and through diet, supplements and lifestyle interventions, she began working to get her Hashimoto’s into remission.

Samantha graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and then continued to research and take courses on hormones, immunology, fertility, paediatrics, cancer and even became a certified Hormone Cure Coach through Dr. Sara Gottfried, a Certified Yoga instructor, Pilates teacher, Kickboxing Instructor, Personal trainer, Metabolic Balance coach and Functional Nutritionist.

What Will You Learn About Medicinal Mushrooms on this Episode?

Samantha shares her wholehearted wellness wisdom with the world every Tuesday on her podcast and every episode is well worth the time spent. On this episode, Brandi Garden and The Wellness Witch, Samantha Gladish, dive deep into the world of therapeutic dose mushroom supplements and how they can be used to improve immune system function, brain health, stress resilience, and sleep.

Immune system function is a hot topic as we recover from a global pandemic, and there are many well-researched mushroom varieties of medicinal mushrooms that can help to power up the innate and adaptive immune systems, including: Reishi, Turkey TailChaga, Shiitake, Cordyceps, and Maitake. You can consume these fantastic fungi extracts as part of your routine with a high-quality mushroom supplement that is organic certified, grain free, and provides a therapeutic dose of mushroom intelligence!

What Else Can Medicinal Mushrooms Do?

  1. Speed Up Your Recovery and Prevent Chronic Illness

Medicinal mushrooms such as Reishi and Turkey Tail can speed up recovery from various health conditions. Both of these functional mushrooms strengthen the immune system while preventing and fighting infections. Reishi increases the activity of natural killer cells and improves lymphocyte function needed for fighting tumors and preventing cancer cell growth. High quality reishi products will list triterpenes on the label and these are the compounds responsible for its antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects. Turkey Tail is commonly used alongside radiation and chemotherapy treatments for patients fighting cancer. Look for verified levels of PSP in Turkey Tail as research shows it is what can help activate pro-inflammatory responses to eliminate pathogens and keep cells healthy.

  1. Feel More Energized in Body and Mind

Mushroom supplements that contain the medicinal mushrooms cordyceps and lion's mane are great for boosting energy and focus. Studies show that Cordyceps can increase the amount of oxygen the blood is able to absorb, which can then improve muscle function and endurance. Athlete’s started paying attention to this medicinal mushroom in 1993 when the women’s track and field team from China broke multiple records and attributed their success to use of cordyceps supplements. Lion's Mane mushroom supplements are a favorite of biohackers because they offer mental clarity without the crash of caffeine and can help to enhance productivity, memory, and focus. Combining both in a mushroom supplement regimen can help you have the physical and mental agility you need to achieve your goals at the office and the gym!

  1. Protect DNA from Damage and Fight the Signs of Aging

Medicinal mushrooms like chaga can be effective in preventing free radical damage to our DNA, which can cause premature aging. Some research shows that the beneficial compounds in chaga are able to have a regulating effect on genes that are responsible for DNA repair, which results in an overall reduction in DNA damage. Chaga has an incredibly high ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value - one of the highest in the world - and this means it’s really good at neutralizing free radicals. The aging process can speed up when we expose ourselves to “oxidants” - reactive molecules produced in our bodies (often related to a poor diet) and in the environment that can cause disease and inflammation. Antioxidants like those in chaga are molecules that protect us from oxidants and reduce the signs of aging related to cell damage over time.
