VEGAN Pumpkin Spice Mushroom Hot Cocoa

We are ready for all things AUTUMN and there is nothing better on a cool fall evening than cozying up on the sofa with a warm drink! Here's a healthier, homemade, and lower caffeine spin on the traditional PSL (pumpkin spice latte) that we see in all the coffee shops this time of year.

The Balance Blend used in this cozy drink offers a full therapeutic dose of Reishi 15:1 Dual Extract + Lion's Mane 8:1 Dual Extract + Maitake 8:1 Extract + Shiitake 8:1 Extract. This is the mushroom extract blend for strengthening your immune system, improving cognitive function, stress relief, and enhancing sleep quality.

Ever wondered if cocoa powder will keep you awake? Here are the facts! 1 tbsp of pure cocoa powder contains 12mg of caffeine. That's about an eighth of the amount of caffeine in an 8-ounce cup of coffee. The cocoa bean is also a rich source of beneficial compounds called flavonoids. These compounds can have anti-inflammatory effects and can help to prevent the development of cardiovascular and cognitive diseases.

Watch us make this recipe HERE!

Here's our recipe for this healthier homemade version of a fall classic:

Ingredients:

2 tbsp pumpkin puree

1 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tsp maple syrup

1/2 tsp Eversio Wellness Balance Blend

1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 cup boiling water

1 cup warmed almond mylk (or other plant based mylk of choice)

Directions:

Add first 6 ingredients to a large mug. Pour in boiling water and blend well. Warm almond mylk on the stovetop, then use a mylk mixer to froth. Pour frothed mylk into cocoa blend. Top with coconut whipped cream if you like, and sprinkle with cinnamon!

Enjoy!
