You’ve heard of functional mushrooms but you’re not sure what they are or how to use them to live a healthier life?

And this is exactly what I discuss in this week’s episode of Balancing Hormones Naturally with my two amazing guests, Brandi Garden and Desiree Caruso.

Brandi is the cofounder of Eversio Wellness, and you might remember her from an older episode, where she shared with us her journey with skin cancer and psoriatic arthritis. Dr. Desiree Caruso, ND is also a returning guest who had previously discussed her journey with a concussion and her passion for functional mushrooms.

In this episode, both Brandi and Desiree will be diving deeper into the benefits of functional mushrooms and sharing with us how we can use them to balance our hormones.

They’ll also be discussing how to customize functional mushrooms for your individual needs, the research supporting the benefits of these mushrooms, and how to incorporate functional mushrooms into your daily life and Cyclical Living regimen.

 

Here's the Energy Balls Recipe discussed in this episode:

Energy Balls Recipe - with functional mushrooms

2 cups of shredded coconut

1 cup of nut butter of choice

1 tsp of redmond’s or celtic sea salt

1 tsp of vanilla extract

1 cup of your ground seed blend for that phase

3.5 tsp of your mushroom blend for that phase

1 bar of dark chocolate chopped up

1/3 cup of honey 

Mold into balls and refrigerate. You want to make the size of your balls so that each batch only lasts 7 days. This means you will get the appropriate amount of seeds and mushroom blend for each day. I try and make 14 balls. You may need to play around with how much nut butter you put in to really nail the texture. Also, you really can’t taste the mushrooms at all!
